Data For: Structural Change and Sustainability in Mexico, 1995–2022: A Reassessment of Classical Development Theory Through Input–Output Analysis

This repository contains the data and Stata code required to replicate the input–output calculations and econometric results reported in “Structural Change and Sustainability in Mexico, 1995–2022: A Reassessment of Classical Development Theory Through Input–Output Analysis”. The package provides two complementary replication routes. The fast route uses the supplied sectoral panels to reproduce the complete econometric analysis. The full route reconstructs the 1995–2022 panel from the OECD harmonised national Input–Output Tables using the Stata–Mata panel builder. The resulting dataset comprises 50 activities, of which 49 enter the econometric sample after excluding household activities as employers and for own use due to structural zeros. The files reproduce the Rasmussen–Hirschman linkage indices, hypothetical-extraction measures, and vertically integrated employment, greenhouse-gas emission, and export-orientation multipliers. The econometric code implements multicollinearity, cross-sectional dependence, slope heterogeneity, unit-root, and panel cointegration tests, followed by CS-ARDL and CS-DL estimations and the sensitivity analyses reported in the article. Running 00_FAST_RUN.do in Stata 18 reproduces the econometric results using the supplied panels. Users wishing to reconstruct the panel from the original OECD archives can activate the full-reconstruction option in the same file. The panel builder is compatible with Stata 13 and later versions, whereas the complete econometric analysis requires Stata 18.
