This dataset contains the design files and firmware for an open-source CNC workstation developed to automate the assembly of paper-based diagnostic assays. The repository includes Arduino code for controlling a Vevor CNC 3040 (supporting LFIA, dipstick, and duplex formats), 3D-printable STL files for assay holders, and supplemental firmware for alternative assay types. The system integrates CNC motion with vacuum-based pick-and-place functionality, enabling low-cost and reproducible assay assembly. These files support the associated HardwareX publication and can be adapted for use in other point-of-care diagnostic device research.
