Description
This dataset contains the soil biochemical and microbial data generated from five Amazonian floodplain forest ecosystems located in the Amazon River estuary, Brazil: regenerated forest, high-várzea forest, low-várzea forest, mangrove forest, and açaí agroforestry. Surface soil samples (0–5 cm) were analyzed for soil physicochemical properties, including pH, available phosphorus (AP), total carbon (TC), total nitrogen (TN), microbial biomass carbon (MBC), and β-glucosidase (BG) activity. These data support the investigation of relationships among soil chemistry, microbial activity, and microbial community composition across contrasting Amazonian floodplain ecosystems and provide a valuable resource for studies on soil biogeochemistry, microbial ecology, nutrient cycling, and carbon storage in tropical floodplain forests.
