Description

The ETS data for Cascadia subduction zone is obtained from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Caltech, and the data for Hikurangi subduction zone is from GeoNet, Geological hazard information for New Zealand. (https://sideshow.jpl.nasa.gov/post/series.html, https://www.geonet.org.nz) FDM (finite difference method) is used to numerically solve the model and fit the ETS data via Hopf instability. The validity of the simulation has been studied in our previous publication, where some other instability scenarios are also discussed. (https://doi.org/10.1093/gji/ggac115)
