Description

The research project began with an extensive literature review that identified 73 potential challenges related to challenges to CE in the construction industry. Following this initial phase, we conducted a frequency analysis to refine this list, ultimately narrowing it down to 30 key challenges. The next step in our research involved designing and distributing a questionnaire survey. This survey was aimed at industry professionals and experts to gather their perspectives on the importance of these 30 challenges. The data collected from this survey were analyzed using the Relative Importance Index (RII) scoring method, which helped us identify the top ten challenges deemed most critical by the respondents. To check the efficacy of our prototype BIM-CES, we conducted an Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). This analysis involved evaluating the performance of BIM-CES in addressing these challenges, based on insights gathered from semi-structured interviews with industry professionals. In these interviews, participants provided a performance score for BIM- CES's effectiveness in each area. The importance of these challenges, as previously determined by the RII score from the survey, was also considered in the IPA. Additionally, our research included an overall evaluation of BIM and CES in the construction industry, providing a comprehensive view of their current status, effectiveness, and areas for improvement. To supplement our research findings, we have attached all the questionnaires used in the survey. These documents offer a detailed view of the data collection process and the specific questions that guided our research, thus providing a thorough and transparent insight into our methodology and results.
