Spatio-temporal dataset of nitrogen dioxide levels during COVID-19 lockdown in Cairo, Egypt
Description
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic in March 2020. Lockdown measures were forced throughout the whole world. Egyptian governorate announced a partial curfew across the entire country on 25th March 2020. This dataset was created to monitor the changes in nitrogen dioxides (NO2) concentration due to the lockdown measures of COVID-19 pandemic in Cairo, Egypt. The daily data was collected and from the Sentinel 5P remote sensing platform for April 2019 and 2020. The daily data were processed using Matlab and ARC/GIS, then the monthly means of April 2019 and 2020 were created and used to calculate the changes in NO2 concentration. The data is publicly available, and it is beneficial for researchers and policymakers.
