Comprehensive Smartphone Image Dataset for Fish Species Identification in Bangladesh's Freshwater Ecosystems
Description
This dataset comprises high-resolution smartphone images capturing various fish species commonly found in Bangladesh. The images were collected from local fish markets and labeled according to species. The dataset includes 20 folders representing different fish species, containing individual images. No preprocessing or normalization was applied to the images. There are a total of 50,000 images in the dataset (26,950 raw data and 23,050 augmented). The Fish Species Identification dataset (6.67 GB) is packaged within the compressed zip file 'Fish Data.zip,' providing a structured framework for researchers to access and utilize the dataset efficiently. Upon extraction, researchers will find a main folder titled 'Fish Data', denoting the processed images. Inside this directory, 20 individual subfolders are meticulously organized, each corresponding to a distinct fish species prevalent in Bangladesh. This hierarchical organization facilitates easy navigation and retrieval of data, ensuring seamless integration into research endeavors focused on fish species recognition and conservation efforts.
