Description

Field experiments were conducted in two independent apple orchard blocks at ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The 2023 block comprised young, early-bearing trees and the 2024 block comprised approximately 15-year-old trees in regular bearing. Experimental observations were made on Coe Red Fuji apple on MM106 rootstock at 3 x 2 m spacing. The growing-season experiment used a 2 x 2 factorial combination of winter pruning and delayed-dormant horticultural mineral oil (HMO): T1 = pruning + HMO T2 = pruning only T3 = HMO only T4 = untreated control The 2023 and 2024 experiments used different physical orchard blocks and different trees. They should therefore be treated as independent block-years rather than repeated measurements of the same tree population.
