Description

This dataset, titled Soil Organic Carbon Storage and Carbon Saturation Maps in Qinghai Province based on HWSD, provides spatially explicit maps of soil organic carbon storage (SOCS) and carbon saturation (SOC saturation) across Qinghai Province, China. The dataset is derived from the Harmonized World Soil Database (HWSD) and integrates field survey data, machine learning techniques, and geospatial modeling. It aims to support research on soil carbon dynamics, ecological environmental quality changes (EEQC), and regional carbon management strategies. Content: SOC Storage Map: Displays the spatial distribution of SOCS (Mg C·ha⁻¹) across Qinghai Province, based on soil bulk density, SOC concentration, and depth, calibrated with observed field data. SOC Saturation Map: Illustrates the spatial variability in SOC saturation levels, indicating areas of undersaturation and saturation. The saturation deficit provides insights into the sequestration potential of different soil types and ecosystems. Key Features: Resolution: 1 km × 1 km grid, suitable for regional-scale analysis. Applications: Supports studies on SOC sequestration potential, land use management, and the impacts of ecological restoration.
