A systematic review was conducted to identify, analyze, evaluate, and summarize clinical trials published in scientific journals since 2018, following the PRISMA-P and PICO frameworks (see supplementary material). The protocol was registered in PROSPERO (CRD420261478133). A research question was formulated following the PICO strategy: What is the effectiveness of meditation in improving the emotional and mental health of pre-service teachers, based on a systematic review of the literature published in the last 10 years? Searches were conducted using the descriptors described in the supplementary material in the following electronic databases: Scopus, Virtual Health Library, Taylor & Francis, Cochrane Central, Trip Database, PsycINFO, Sage Pub, ERIC, SpringerLink, CINAHL, DOSS, Wiley Online Library, ProQuest, and Medline. The risk of bias of the included studies was assessed using the RoB-2 tool. The full texts of the included studies were read to examine the qualitative variables and tabulated them in a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet: author and year, country of study, objective, sample size and groups, type of intervention evaluated and compared, mental health variables evaluated, measurement instruments used and results of the effectiveness of the interventions.
