Supporting data and reproducibility materials for the manuscript: What enables value addition in non-timber forest product value chains? Comparative evidence from Colombia
Description
This dataset supports the manuscript “What enables value addition in non-timber forest product value chains? Comparative evidence from Colombia.” It contains the non-confidential source-level records, species-level summaries, indicator values, and reproducibility materials used to analyse 12 Colombian non-timber forest product value chains. The supporting Excel workbook documents the traceability from the underlying records to the final analytical dataset. It includes species-level bibliometric results and the Scopus-indexed records underlying the publication counts; inventories of NTFP-related projects and initiatives, stakeholder platforms and networks, commercialized products, manufacturers and commercializing actors, companies, civil-society organizations, and end-use sectors; and information on sustainable wild-harvest protocol status, registered nurseries, species-specific credit availability, and organizations recognized under the Colombian Green Business programme. The workbook also reports the raw indicator values, fuzzy-set calibrated scores, aggregated higher-order conditions, and value-addition intensity outcome used in the fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA). The accompanying reproducibility materials include the R script, machine-readable input datasets, software environment information, and generated outputs for the calibration, necessity, sufficiency, robustness, and sensitivity analyses. Bibliographic metadata in the worksheet 1. Bibliometric_data_by_species were exported from Scopus and are included to document the records underlying the bibliometric analysis. No article full texts are included, and rights in third-party bibliographic content remain with their respective rights holders. Raw interview materials, workshop notes, informed-consent records, and identifiable participant-level information are not included because access is restricted to protect participant confidentiality.

Steps to reproduce
Download the files in the TFP_fsQCA_reproducibility_materials folder. Keep TFP_fsQCA_reproducible_analysis.R, TFP_fsQCA_raw_data.csv, and TFP_fsQCA_calibrated_reference.csv in the same directory. Run the analysis using R version 4.5.3, QCA version 3.24, and admisc version 0.40. Open the R script in RStudio, set the working directory to the folder containing the script and input files, and run the complete script using “Source”. The script generates an outputs folder containing the calibration audit, necessity results, truth tables, complex, parsimonious, and intermediate solutions, robustness and sensitivity analyses, saved R objects, and software-session information. Additional details are provided in README_fsQCA_reproducibility.md.
