Ethnographic Interview Transcripts from Interviews with Residents of a Stilt House in Tai O Village – 2021-22 - Case 687795

This data includes the full transcript of an interview conducted in Cantonese and Hakka/Hokla dialects, and the translation of the same into English. The content of the interview includes a semi-structured interview with one or members of a household living in a stilt house in Tai O Village, Hong Kong. The house is designated “Case 687795” in the research project record. Researchers collected this data by interviewing household residents for 30 minutes or more on topics related to their housing, housing satisfaction and/or affinity, and related topics. The data in this format of the transcript has been anonymized to remove all identifying information to prevent identification of the informant and connection of informants’ identities with sensitive information. The data provide household members’ testimony on their housing and related topics including personal and family history, Village history, and other topics. The data is available under embargo of one year to protect the personal information of household members, provided for purposes of scholarship on Tai O, stilt house communities, and/or topics related to housing. More detailed information on the dataset including thematic coding and summaries are available upon reviewed request.
