Description

Understanding the response of soil microbial communities to altitude gradients and their potential functional roles is crucial for exploring biogeochemical processes in the context of climate change. In this study, microbial diversity was investigated along an altitude gradient (2400-3200 m) in alpine farmlands on the southern slope of the Qilian Mountains. The 16S rRNA and ITS gene sequencing techniques were used to analyze the bacterial and fungal communities. The functional groups were predicted using the Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States 2 (PICRUSt2) and FUNGuild, and the impacts of some environmental factors on them were explored.
