This canopy transmittance data was collected in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington. Sixty trees of six different riparian tree and shrub species were sampled six times between April and July. Two instruments were used: an ACCUPAR LP-80 ceptometer and an Apogee SP-510-SS thermopile pyranometer. We found significant differences between datasets and species at different points in time. Data was collected to distinguish between shade quality of different riparian species to aid in riparian restoration decision-making.
