Description

The following factors were found to be significantly associated with a higher infection rate: current betel nut chewing (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] = 1.77, 95% CI = 1.42-2.21; p-value < 0.001), current alcohol consumption (aHR= 1.80, 95% CI = 1.56-2.09; p-value < 0.001), patients with two comorbidities (aHR = 1.49, 95% CI = 1.24-1.79; p-value < 0.001), and patients with more than two comorbidities (aHR = 1.57, 95% CI = 1.22-2.02; p-value < 0.001).
