Description

We collected atmospheric aerosols from Sapporo, Japan during a heavy haze episode with a significant decline of visibility under strong influence from Siberian Forest fires. Samples were analyzed to investigate the organic aerosol components including dicarboxylic acids (C2-C10), ω-oxoacids, pyruvic acid, α-dicarbonyls as well as sugar compounds and lipid class compounds. We discovered that concentrations of oxalic acid (ave. 260 ng m-3) and levoglucosan (ave. 20 ng m-3) were 1.30 times and 3.30 times higher compared with those of non-fire-influenced period in Sapporo.
