Description

This data package contains supplementary information for the study "Common controls on Na and Sr in modern and fossil brachiopod shells: long-term stability of biomineralisation and use for seawater Sr/Ca reconstruction". Tabulated data include coordinates and metainformation for modern sample sites (Supplementary Table 1) and fossil sample sites (Supplementary Table 2); analytical results for standards measured alongside samples (Supplementary Table 3) and data newly measured for this study (Supplementary Table 4). It also contains compilations of published data on brachiopod Na/Ca and Sr/Ca (Supplementary Table 5) and published seawater Sr/Ca reconstructions for the late Triassic to early Cretaceous (Supplementary Table 6). Supplementary Figure 1 contains photographs of the annotated sampled specimens of Liothyrella neozelanica.
