Description

This dataset contains processed country-level panel data and Stata analysis code accompanying the study “Free trade agreements and biodiversity loss: Evidence from the China-ASEAN free trade agreement”. The study examines the relationship between the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement and biodiversity across 41 Asian countries during 2001–2022. The archive includes processed biodiversity and socioeconomic data, mechanism variables, spatial-analysis inputs, an integrated Stata do-file, and a README describing execution instructions and known limitations. The carbon-emission intensity variable, ln_co2_gdp, is calculated as the natural logarithm of co2_per_gdp. Users should consult the README before running the code. The package does not include all upstream data-acquisition and processing programs. Full execution of the integrated code and verification against all manuscript results remain outstanding.
