Effects of exogenous calcium chloride on growth, physiological indicators and programmed cell death of Pinellia ternata under high temperature stress

This dataset originates from a pot experiment on Pinellia ternata seedlings investigating how pre-sprayed 2 mmol/L exogenous calcium chloride relieves high-temperature (35 °C) stress, with 23 °C as normal temperature control and pure water as blank control. Leaf samples were harvested on days 1, 2, 4 and 6 post heat treatment to measure multi-type data: leaf physiological indicators (chlorophyll content, SOD/POD/CAT antioxidant enzyme activity), histological staining results (Evans blue, TUNEL), and relative expression of programmed cell death (PCD) key genes plus Caspase-3 activity. The dataset records phenotypic, physiological, cytological and molecular evidence proving 2 mmol/L calcium chloride suppresses chlorophyll breakdown, boosts antioxidant capacity, alleviates cell membrane injury, downregulates PCD-related genes, inhibits protease activity and ultimately restrains heat-induced PCD in P. ternata, supporting heat-resistant cultivation research of this medicinal plant.
