This study examines the influence of herd behaviour on gold investment decisions among retail investors in India, with fear of missing out (FOMO) as a mediating factor. Using purposive sampling, data were collected from 617 investors through a structured questionnaire and analysed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that herd behaviour significantly affects both FOMO and gold investment decisions. FOMO also has a strong positive impact on investment decisions and partially mediates the relationship between herd behaviour and gold investment. The study highlights the importance of psychological and social influences in shaping investment behaviour in the Indian gold market.
