NATIONAL TRENDS IN HOSPITAL MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY FROM PANCREATIC CANCER IN ECUADOR, 2008-2023 dataset
Description
This dataset contains aggregated epidemiological records of pancreatic cancer in Ecuador between 2008 and 2023. The data were derived from official mortality and morbidity registries compiled by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) and were used to calculate national incidence and mortality trends in the associated epidemiological study. The dataset is anonymized and includes no individual-level information. All variables correspond to aggregated counts and proportions suitable for population-based temporal and geographic analyses.

Steps to reproduce
The dataset contains aggregated pancreatic cancer records in Ecuador (2008–2023). To reproduce the results: Open the file time_series and calculate annual crude incidence using: incidence rate = (cases / population) × 100,000 Calculate mortality rate using: mortality rate = (deaths / population) × 100,000 Plot temporal trends (line chart) for incidence and mortality across years. Use the provinces sheet to compute percentage distribution by territory and generate geographic or bar plots. Compare temporal increase and stabilization phases using descriptive trend interpretation. No individual-level data or statistical modeling is required to reproduce the main findings.
