Description

Ovarian cancer (OC) is the diagnosis of disease at advanced stages with distant metastasis described as the transition of cells from epithelial to mesenchymal phenotype (EMT).The expression of hsa-miR-200c-3p was analyzed on the ovarian tissues obtained from healthy individuals (n=15), and advanced epithelial OC (EOC) patients (n=15). ZEB1 is one of the target genes of hsa-miR-200c-3p and was determined by in-silico methods. The expression of ZEB1 was analyzed in both groups. The expression of hsa-miR-200c-3p was significantly increased in OC patients (p <0.05). ZEB1 expression level decreased significantly (p <0.05) in EOC group. The correlation analysis indicated a strong negative correlation between hsa-miR-200c-3p and the ZEB1 gene (r=-0,75; p<0,00).
