Yunnan_GI_Product_List

Description

This dataset contains product-level data for 134 geographical indication (GI) products protected under China’s GI product-protection system in Yunnan Province as of 30 June 2026. The data were compiled from publicly available administrative records, including GI product-recognition records and approvals for use of the official GI special sign. For each product, the dataset reports the product name, recognition date, classification as a primary agricultural product or other product, the number of publicly identifiable formally authorized actors, their organizational composition, and a standardized authorization pattern. Authorization patterns are classified as “No publicly identifiable actor,” “Company only,” “Mixed,” or “Non-company only.” The dataset records formal authorization rather than actual use of the GI special sign, marketed volume, market performance, primary producer participation, or producer value capture. It supports the descriptive analysis in the manuscript “Beyond GI Recognition: Primary Producer Inclusion and Post-Recognition Organization in Yunnan, China.”
