Evidence for open magmatic system processes recorded in crystal cargoes of lunar basalts
Description
This repository hosts supplemental data for an article titled "Evidence for open magmatic system processes recorded in crystal cargoes of lunar basalts 10057, 12038, 12043, 15085, 15556, 70017" prepared for a Geological Society of London Special Publication. This manuscript evaluates the textural characteristics and elemental stratigraphies recorded in pyroxene, feldspar, and olivine grains in the named samples, finding that "open" magmatic system processes are recorded in some of the grains. Hosted here are 1) energy dispersive spectroscopy maps of the thin sections, 2) a Microsoft Powerpoint that indicates locations of grains where quantitative compositional data was collected, 3) "Annotated Images" that show where spot analyses were completed on individual analyzed grains, 4) an Excel workbook with all compositional data collected via EPMA and LAICPMS. See the original publication for more information about how data was collected. Note that compositional data includes core and rim analyses, and where possible mantling analyses; please review Annotated Images prior to plotting. Light microscopy images of the thin sections are also available but too large for the repository - please email the corresponding author (A.J. Gawronska, ajvgawronska@gmail.com) if interested.
