The purpose of this data is to explore the relationship between childhood experiences of sexual abuse and chronic and multimorbidity in adulthood. The data suggests that sexual abuse is associated with a significantly higher risk of developing multiple chronic and multimorbidity conditions in adulthood. It is worth noting that we categorised sexual harassment and sexual violence according to the nature of the sexual abuse they experienced. Sexual harassment, on the other hand, is more strongly associated with chronic and multimorbidity than sexual violence. This may be due to the fact that sexual harassment is easier to perpetrate and more harmful to people than sexual violence.
