Description

The dataset consists of binned MCS temperature profiles derived from the original PDS data. This dataset is utilized for comparing with PCM simulations in order to investigate the impact of non-orographic gravity waves on the thermal structures and tides in the Martian middle atmosphere. Only month 3 (Ls 30-60) and month 9 (Ls 240-270) of MY29 have been uploaded. The temperature profiles are averaged over a 5-degree range of Ls. The thermal structures represent the average temperature over day and night, while the thermal tides indicate the differences between day and night. This dataset can be accessed, modified, and visualized using Python, Fortran, or any other programming language that supports a NetCDF library.

Steps to reproduce

For those who want to have a quick look to the data: 1) use your NetCDF viewer such as FERRET 2) open the data and plot. For those who want to reproduce the figures in the paper, you can use any language with a NetCDF IO interfence to plot the figure (such as python).
