This dataset contains responses from a student survey designed to explore how Open Educational Resources (OER) support the development of information literacy (IL) skills among undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Ghana. The dataset documents student awareness, usage, and perceptions of OER, as well as self-reported improvements in IL competencies such as searching for academic information, evaluating sources, and citing properly.

Steps to reproduce

Download the dataset file (there is a raw and cleaned) Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets, SPSS, R, or Python (pandas). Review the column names and use the README to understand the variables. Remove or keep incomplete responses (2–5) depending on analysis needs. Run frequency counts and percentages for awareness, usage, and benefits of OER. Summarize open-ended responses by grouping similar ideas (themes). Compare your results with the study findings to confirm consistency.
