Description

This dataset supports the manuscript “Sedentary Accumulation Patterns and Mental Health Among University Teachers: Longitudinal Evidence from a Two-Wave Cohort.” It includes de-identified data from 769 full-time university teachers in China, assessed at two time points ~12 months apart. Teachers wore thigh-mounted accelerometers (activPAL4) for 7 consecutive days at each wave. Key sedentary behavior measures are mean sitting-bout length (MBL), the proportion of sitting time in prolonged ≥30-minute bouts (Prolonged30%), and total daily sitting time. Mental health outcomes include the WHO-5 Well-Being Index, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), and Maslach Burnout Inventory – Emotional Exhaustion (MBI-EE). Covariates include demographics, body mass index, sleep quality (PSQI), and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA). All records are fully anonymized. Analysis scripts (R) for data processing and modeling are provided to facilitate replication and secondary use.
