The study employed a qualitative secondary data analysis approach to systematically gather and analyze data related to social media use and youth identity formation in Biliran Province. Publicly available secondary data from 2023 to 2026 were collected through documentary analysis and thematic analysis procedures. Sources of data included scholarly journals, academic publications, government reports, educational studies, online articles, digital media resources, and credible research databases discussing youth behavior, social media engagement, digital culture, communication practices, and identity formation. The researcher utilized purposive sampling to select relevant materials directly connected to the objectives of the study. Data gathering followed a keyword-search protocol using terms such as “social media use among youth,” “digital identity formation,” “rural youth communication,” “online behavior in the Philippines,” and “Biliran youth culture.” Only credible, publicly accessible, and academically reliable sources were included, while unverifiable content and unrelated materials were excluded. Collected information was organized and processed through thematic coding, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis to identify recurring themes such as self-expression, peer interaction, social influence, emotional response, and behavioral outcomes. Microsoft Word and spreadsheet software were utilized to organize, code, summarize, and compare qualitative data. The research workflow involved data familiarization, thematic classification, analysis of recurring patterns, and interpretation of findings based on the theoretical framework of the study. Since the research relied exclusively on secondary data, no laboratory instruments, experimental reagents, or direct participation of human respondents were involved. All procedures, search strategies, thematic categories, and references were systematically documented to ensure transparency, consistency, and reproducibility for future researchers conducting similar studies.
