Description

The Scapula is a part of (AC Joint) Acromioclavicular joint and Scapulothoracic joint (ST Joint). The scapula also connects the humerus to Axial Skeleton Via Clavicle. The coupled motion between Scapula and the humerus is called as Scapulohumeral Rhythm.(Burn et al., 2016)• Study type: Randomized superiority Sham Controlled Trial • Study population: Recreational Overhead Athletes • Study setting: Different academies. • Sampling design: Quota sampling • Sampling criteria: o Inclusion:  Recreational Overhead (playing at least 3 times a week ) athletes age 18-25 years.  Presence of unilateral scapular dyskinesia. ( In scapulometer distance of ROS and INF >15mm)  Presence of altered scapular movement (Type I–III dyskinesis as per Kibler classification) o Exclusion:  Pain while doing shoulder ROM.  History of acute shoulder injury.  History of Rotator cuff tear.  Diagnosed with conditions such as shoulder impingement syndrome, thoracic Outlet syndrome, Frozen shoulder.  History of having recurrent shoulder dislocations.  Diagnosed with any neurological condition,  Diagnosed with thoracic Outlet syndrome  Skin conditions over shoulder or upper back. • Sample size: will be calculated after Pilot study. • Duration: 1 year • Intervention : Kinesio Taping. o Dosage: Twice a week. o Duration: 4 weeks. • Study variables o Dependant : Root of Spine distance and inferior angle distance. o Independent : Kinesio Taping. • Materials to be used: Plastic vernier Caliper, Plastic Ruler. • Outcome measures : Scapulometer • Instruments to be used for outcome measures : Plastic vernier caliper, Plastic Ruler Participants will be briefed about the study, and written informed consent will be obtained. Each participant will be screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Entire Procedure, Its purpose, confidentiality and the right to withdraw will be explained in simple understandable language. Patients will be screened as per the inclusion and exclusion criteria and they will be separated in control and experimental group. The Pre Intervention data will be taken which includes INF and ROS distance with Scapulometer. The Experimental group will receive Kinesio Taping and Control Group will receive sham taping. (Ozer et al., 2018). After the intervention the athletes will be screened for the outcome measure. The intervention will be done 2 times a week with total duration of 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, the INF and ROS distance will again be taken.
