Awareness of obstetric and gynecology physiotherapy interventions among physiotherapy students

Background: Physiotherapists are trained to assess the cause of injury, disorder on movement and function and have the skill to provide a comprehensive treatment plan to help restore function. Physiotherapists treat the patient on assessment, clinical examination, evaluation, and diagnosis of the condition to recover the neuromuscular -skeletal and Cardiopulmonary efficiencies of the patient. The term, physiotherapy is acknowledged in the 18th century. In India, it completes 67 years. Materials and Methods: Apparently, an approved questionnaire was sent through a Google form link to 500 physiotherapy students. 300 responses were received and analyzed. Out of 300, 168 of the respondents were female and 132 were male. All willing physiotherapy students, graduate and post graduate were included, whereas students and non internet users were excluded. Result: From the study, it was learned that there is awareness regarding antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy (87%), The survey has been completed with the 300 responses for the awareness of obstetrics and gynecology physiotherapy intervention among physiotherapy students The response rate was 59.7% based on 300 response s out of 500. In which 168 were female and 132 were male. Age group between 18 to 30 years Conclusion: This study suggests that among the participants, most of the physiotherapy students 87% are aware that physiotherapy can be helpful in obstetrics and gynecology conditions. Even then participants have lesser knowledge regarding the physiotherapy intervention that can be administered for the various conditions. Physiotherapy student needs more knowledge and awareness about the subject so that the physiotherapy in this filed could develop more and could prove itself to be a great resource in the medical field.
