Dataset for the BASIS Framework: High-Resolution Spatial, Diurnal, and Hydraulic Fecal Pollution Tracking in Resource-Limited Urban Channels

This dataset contains high-frequency spatial, temporal, and hydraulic measurements collected from two urban natural drainage networks (Malnichara and Goali Chara) and the receiving Surma River in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The data was collected over a four-week dry-weather monitoring campaign to develop and validate the Behavioral-Anthropogenic Synchronization for Inference of Sources (BASIS) framework. The dataset includes: Spatial Baseline Data: Geolocations (Latitude/Longitude), urban land-use classifications (e.g., Slum, Residential, Commercial), and baseline Fecal Coliform (FC) concentrations for 62 monitoring stations. High-Frequency Temporal Data: Hourly and daily measurements of FC (10⁵ CFU/100 mL), Turbidity (NTU), and pH from targeted outfall nodes to capture diurnal and weekly "Anthropogenic Pulses." Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD₅): 7-day organic loading data (mg/L) from strategic channel outfalls and river transects to quantify the "Organic Stress Gradient" and "Shoreline Plume" effects. Hydraulic Mass-Balance Data: Detailed open-channel physical parameters (channel width, depth profiles, cross-sectional areas) and flow velocities. This data is coupled with concurrent FC concentrations to calculate steady-state mass-balance closure between engineered household drains and natural receiving channels.
