Description

This replication package accompanies the manuscript “Corruption and the Fiscal System Nexus in OIC Countries: Evidence from Method-of-Moments Quantile Regression”. The package contains the analysis-ready annual panel used in the study, covering 52 member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) over 2012–2024, corresponding to a complete country-year grid of 676 observations. The deposited data integrate fiscal, macroeconomic, and governance indicators obtained from publicly available sources, including Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index, the International Monetary Fund World Economic Outlook database, the World Bank World Development Indicators, and the Worldwide Governance Indicators. The package includes the analysis-ready dataset in CSV and Stata formats, a 160-variable codebook, documentation, manuscript-output mapping, validation information, and the complete Stata 17 do-file pipeline used to produce descriptive statistics, panel diagnostics, two-way fixed-effects estimates, temporal specifications, economic-magnitude calculations, method-of-moments quantile regression (MMQR), robustness analyses, leave-one-country-out estimations, tables, and figures. To reproduce the analysis, download and extract OIC_Fiscal_Corruption_Replication_Package_v1.0.zip, set the Stata working directory to the extracted package root, and run: do "Stata_DO_Files/00_MASTER_OIC_FISCAL_SYSTEMS_FINAL.do" Generated outputs are written to the RESULTS_FISCAL_SYSTEMS_FINAL directory. See README.md and MANUSCRIPT_OUTPUT_MAP.csv for detailed instructions and the correspondence between replication outputs and the manuscript tables and figures. The original code and documentation were prepared by the authors. The compiled dataset incorporates third-party statistical data.
