Description

This dataset contains the full raw hydrogeochemical and geothermal data of 17 thermal springs/geothermal wells in southeastern Chongqing, China, which directly supports the research findings of the paper "Genesis of Geothermal Water in Southeastern Chongqing, China". All data are stored in the single Excel sheet "Raw data", with the following detailed specifications: 1. Sampling Basic Information: Includes sampling zone (e.g., East of Yushan Fault), sample ID, full name of sampling site, longitude & latitude, elevation, water discharge (m³/d), and utilization status (unutilized, bathing use, etc.) of each thermal water point. 2. Field Measured Parameters: In-situ test results including water temperature (°C), pH value, electrical conductivity (μS/cm), and dissolved solids, all measured on-site during sampling. 3. Laboratory Tested Hydrochemical Data: Major cation (Ca²⁺, K⁺, Na⁺, Mg²⁺) and anion (HCO₃⁻, Cl⁻, SO₄²⁻) concentrations, all expressed in mg/L, tested by ion chromatography in the laboratory. 4. Isotope and Geochronology Data: Includes ¹⁴C activity (A14C) and ¹⁴C age of the thermal water, which provides direct data support for the study of groundwater circulation age and runoff path. All water samples were collected from thermal water systems in southeastern Chongqing, China. The on-site parameters were measured by portable water quality analyzers, and the ion concentration tests were completed in the hydrogeochemistry laboratory with strict quality control.
