Swelling and Incubation Data for Copper Tripeptide-Modified Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogels
Description
This dataset contains raw and processed experimental data supporting the study “Copper Tripeptide-Modified Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogels: Synthesis and Physicochemical Characterization”. The dataset includes swelling/sorption and incubation data for photocrosslinked hyaluronic acid-based hydrogel materials, including an unmodified formulation and a formulation modified with GHK-Cu copper tripeptide. Swelling experiments were performed in distilled water, phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), and Ringer’s fluid. Measurements were performed in triplicate at 1, 12, 24, and 48 h. The deposited data include initial dry sample mass, swollen sample mass, calculated swelling ratio, individual replicate values, arithmetic means, and standard deviations. The swelling ratio (α) was calculated as α = (m − m₀)/m₀, where m is the mass of the swollen sample at the specified time and m₀ is the initial dry sample mass. The dataset also contains replicate-level and processed pH measurements obtained during incubation of the hydrogel materials in distilled water, PBS, and Ringer’s fluid over 48 h. The accompanying files include raw experimental data, processed data, descriptive statistics, two-way ANOVA results, a data dictionary, and documentation facilitating interpretation and reuse of the dataset.

Hydrogel samples were prepared by UV-induced photopolymerization. For the swelling experiment, dry hydrogel samples were immersed in 50 mL of the selected medium: distilled water, phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), or Ringer’s fluid. Measurements were performed in triplicate. At 1, 12, 24, and 48 h, the samples were removed from the medium, excess surface liquid was removed, and the samples were weighed. The swelling ratio (α) for each replicate was calculated as α = (m − m₀)/m₀, where m is the mass of the swollen hydrogel at the specified time and m₀ is its initial dry mass. Mean values and sample standard deviations were calculated from three replicates for each experimental condition. For the incubation experiment, pH was monitored in distilled water, PBS, and Ringer’s fluid at 4 h intervals over a total period of 48 h. Measurements were performed in triplicate. The CSV files contain replicate-level experimental data and processed summary data. Variable definitions and measurement units are provided in the accompanying data dictionary.
