Gravity Wave Activity in the Arctic Middle Atmosphere: Suppression During Sudden Stratospheric Warmings and Implications for Wind Filtering

Description

This dataset supports the article "Gravity Wave Activity in the Arctic Middle Atmosphere: Suppression During Sudden Stratospheric Warmings and Implications for Wind Filtering". The data are provided in .qda format and you will require Kaleidagraph to open the files. You can also convert the qda files into excel files using QDA miner. The contour plots are created using IDL and the codes that was used to create the figure is also provided.

Steps to reproduce

For figure 3, run the code of Interleaved file to get the fluctuations for even and odd data; run the code for the all data to get the fluctuations for " ALL" data. For figure 10, The data is downloaded from MERRA-2. Just download the data files and run the code in the folder of " Figure 10" to get the MERRA-2 winds. For the rest of the figures, the data is provided in .qda format. One can open the files is Kaleidagraph to plot the data or export the data into excel and plot the same.
