Dataset of an energy monitoring system implemented in an eco-renovated heritage building located in Vitoria-Gasteiz and composed by three in-use dwellings with gas boiler, heat pump and ventilation systems
Description
An intensive Energy Monitoring and Control System (MCS) was installed in three dwellings of a retrofitted heritage building in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain) under the European project ENERPAT-SUDOE: Experimentation in the Eco-Renovation of Old Built Heritage. Two complementary MCS platforms—a fixed system and a mobile system—were deployed to support a range of experimental tests aimed at assessing the building’s energy performance and the effectiveness of its energy systems post-retrofit. The datasets derived from an experimental work that implemented two Monitoring and Control System (MCS), a fixed and mobile MCS, which were implemented to conduct different experimental test to assess the energy performance of building and their energy systems after the eco-retrofitting. This Data in Brief includes data from the fixed MCS, where the data from this MCS complements the dataset derived from the mobile MCS. The datasets of the fixed MCS were compiled through a rigorous data collection process, with 82 sensors installed to collect data from October 26, 2019, at 13:53:00 to November 05, 2024, at 23:59:00. These datasets provide valuable insights into the energy performance of the monitored dwellings, capturing physical variables of user comfort, heating and HVAC system, electrical energy consumption, and weather conditions. Moreover, the data can be leveraged to optimize monitoring and control strategies for Building Automation Systems (BAS), heating systems, and HVAC systems. Additionally, it supports the advancement of research methodologies that rely on Key Performance Indicators of building energy behaviour, such as the Heat Transfer Coefficient (HTC).
