Description

We hypothesize that high levels of oxidative stress compounds resulting from CS exposure stimulate the exocytosis of HMGB1. HMGB1 binds to TLR4 and triggers the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. The NLRP3 inflammasome mediates pyroptosis by releasing inflammatory factors and cellular components, exacerbating inflammation and accelerating skeletal muscle atrophy.
