Description

This dataset contains averaged data of 28 kinematic parameters extracted with the EquiMoves® software. In total, 428 horses from four different breeds were measured on a straight line in hand at the walk and trot. Horses were equipped with the seven IMU sensors and led along a track of 25-46 meters that was either a soft (sand arena) or hard (asphalt) surface. Limb length and wither's height (available for the majority of horses) as well as the speed of the horses (measured with a separate timing device, stopwatch or Freelap®) are available to scale the data based on speed and height. Whether the horses were shod (in front, all four, or not at all) was also recorded. Age can be extracted from the data of the measurement year and year of birth of the horses. The horses can be considered owner-sound (no obvious lameness, but potential irregularities cannot be excluded). For more information regarding the dataset, please consult the data paper provided in the link.
