Data were collected through a structured, closed-ended household survey administered to beneficiaries of the Kuirikhola-Matigaon Irrigation Sub Project in Morang District, Nepal, between December 2022 and February 2023. Sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan (1970) formula for a finite population. A pilot survey with 10 respondents was conducted in November 2022 in Dangihat, Morang District, to refine the questionnaire before full deployment. The questionnaire used a five-point Likert scale (1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree) for all substantive items, and was translated into Nepali for administration. It was structured into six sections: demographic characteristics, human capital, social capital, participation and empowerment, agricultural technology, and perception of beneficiaries (see accompanying codebook for full item wording and variable coding). A total of 210 responses were collected. During data cleaning, 8 responses were excluded due to missing or inconsistent answers, yielding a final analytic sample of 202 valid responses (retained in this dataset). To reproduce the reported analysis, one should import this dataset into SmartPLS (version 4 or later) or an equivalent partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) software package. Specify a measurement model with five reflective constructs: Human Capital (HC1–HC4), Social Capital (SC1–SC4), Participation and Empowerment (PE1–PE5), Agricultural Technology (AT2, AT3, AT4 - check the attached codebook for dropped items AT1, AT5, AT6), and Perception of Beneficiaries (PB1–PB3). Specify a structural model in which Human Capital and Social Capital predict both Participation and Empowerment and Perception of Beneficiaries, Participation and Empowerment predicts Perception of Beneficiaries, and Agricultural Technology moderates the Human Capital–Perception and Social Capital–Perception relationships. Assess the measurement model for reliability and validity, then run bootstrapping (5,000 subsamples) to test path significance, following standard PLS-SEM procedures (e.g., Hair et al., 2017).
