South American plant exudate gums: evidence matrix, publication activity, supply data and reproducible analyses

his dataset accompanies the review “South American Plant Exudate Gums as Emerging Food Hydrocolloids: Sources, Structure–Function Relationships, Technological Performance, and Commercial Prospects.” It contains an author-curated evidence matrix, source-level quantitative extractions, food-application and safety evidence, regulatory source records, and bibliometric and supply analyses derived from published literature, OpenAlex metadata and official statistical sources. No new laboratory experiments are reported. The critical-review evidence cutoff is 9 September 2026. The complementary publication analysis compares a conservative title-focused journal corpus for 1900–2025, with partial 2026 results reported separately. Exact searches, saved metadata, deduplication and screening decisions, source locators, calculations, figure data and an offline reproduction script are provided. Production, collection yields, laboratory recovery, installed nominal capacity and trade observations retain separate definitions, units, periods and limitations. Missing evidence is not treated as zero. The guide maps the datasets to the integrated manuscript’s tables and figures. The workbooks and archive preserve the original frozen analysis, with documented source-note corrections in the S1 submission copy. Original sources retain their attribution and respective access and reuse conditions.

Steps to reproduce

1. Read Supplementary_information.docx for scope, variables, denominators and interpretation limits. 2. Extract Quantitative_Report_Supplementary_Material.zip and open its Supplementary_data folder. 3. With Python 3.10 or later, run `python3 verify_reproduction.py` from that folder. Only the Python standard library is required. 4. The verifier checks the archive and API-response hashes, regenerates eight publication-analysis outputs in a temporary directory, compares them with the frozen files, checks 5,761 worksheet formula results and checks 104 plotted Figure 4 values against the annual records. A successful run returns status PASS. 5. Consult the archive README.md for optional figure recreation, CSV definitions, reference crosswalks and original source URLs.
