Description

Tribulus terrestris L., an annual medicinal herb from the Zygophyllaceae family, has attracted considerable attention due to its diverse therapeutic properties, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-cancer effects. A total of approximately 7.9 GB of sequencing data, comprising 482 million reads, was generated and assembled into 148,871 unigenes. Functional annotations were assigned to 50% of these unigenes using sequence similarity searches against multiple databases, such as NCBI non-redundant (NR) and with particular emphasis on Gene Ontology and KEGG-KAAS pathways. Additionally, 21,026 unigenes associated with transcription factors and 15,551 unigenes containing simple sequence repeats (SSRs) were identified, with di-nucleotide SSR motifs being the most prevalent. The development of the TribulusDatabase (TTB)( https://dslab.nbrc.res.in/tribulus/index.php) serves as a valuable resource for researchers and breeders, facilitating the development of stress-resilient Tribulus varieties, enhancing medicinal properties, and furthering molecular biology research on this species
