This dataset contains the replication materials for the quantitative analysis in “The Paradox of Protection: Labor Laws and Employment Conflicts in China.” It includes a province-year panel covering 31 Chinese provinces from 2000 to 2023, constructed from the China Labor Statistical Yearbook and China Statistical Yearbook, together with the data and code used for the continuous difference-in-differences and related robustness analyses.
