Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) sheet structures with orthorhombic symmetry
Description
This dataset accompanies the article: "TPMS sheet structures with orthorhombic symmetry: anisotropic elasticity and energy absorption". Four TPMS topologies are investigated (CLP, I-6, I-8, and I-9). Three in-plane cell aspect ratios are considered; a/b = 1, a/b = 2/3, and a/b = 3/7 (denoted by “a1b1”, “a2b3”, and “a3b7” in the file names, respectively). File descriptions: "Abaqus input (.inp)": Abaqus input files for (1) the linear implicit FEA (unit cell) and (2) the nonlinear explicit FEA (cell array). "Experimental test data": Includes (1) ASTM tension/compression test data of the solid Grey V5 material. (2) Compression test data of the TPMS structures, with accompanying sample photos and video stills. "STL": Triangulated surface *.stl files of the TPMS designs. Includes (1) unit cell (shell) models for linear FEA. (2) Cell array (shell) models for nonlinear FEA (the shells are subsequently thickness offset to form solid elements in Abaqus). (3) Cell array (0.3 mm thickness) volumetric models for additive manufacture. "Surface Evolver": Surface Evolver files for generating the minimal surfaces.
