Repeated Traumatic Brain Injury in Civilian Emergency Care: An Exploration of Potential Risk Factors Supplementary Materials

Repeated traumatic brain injury (rTBI) is rarely studied in populations outside of sport and military contexts. We conducted a systematic review to evaluate the literature on rTBI presenting to civilian emergency departments. Of 5,336 studies found, four were included. Key findings were that risk of rTBI was elevated in those with pre-existing epilepsy/seizures or a history of substance abuse. This dataset includes the raw data extraction table and search strategy.
