Description

This repository contains the source code of FLEX-FHIR, a modular fog computing architecture for community-centered healthcare based on the HL7 FHIR standard. The system enables decentralized processing of vital sign data collected from wearable IoT devices, generating population-level health insights at neighborhood and community scales. FLEX-FHIR organizes containerized services—including HAPI FHIR, PostgreSQL, AI, and statistical modules—into a hierarchical fog structure that supports local decision-making, low-latency data aggregation, and scalable cloud synchronization. The architecture ensures semantic interoperability through end-to-end FHIR compliance while enabling distributed analytics and regional health monitoring without centralized data aggregation.
