Optical Fiber Health Monitoring
Description
This folder contains the four datasets underlying every real, reported result in the accompanying manuscripts. All four are PHYSICS-BASED SYNTHETIC datasets, generated by open, deterministic, seeded simulator code that is itself part of the project's public codebase -- this is stated explicitly and without qualification: no real captured OTDR or DAS device data is included in this release. Where the simulators model physical device behavior (noise floor, dynamic range, acquisition geometry), they are grounded in the real, publicly documented specifications of the target instrument, the GLSUN OTS3000-OTDR (see glsun.com product datasheets, cited in the manuscripts as references [8],[9] / manufacturer specification citations). This grounding does not make the data real-device data; it means the simulator's operating envelope (SNR range, dynamic range) matches a real instrument's documented envelope rather than an arbitrary choice.
