Description

This dataset supports the study Individual identification in species lacking distinctive pelage patterns: a contour-based camera-trap framework. The repository contains processed image annotation data, metadata used during individual identification trials, and statistical outputs used to evaluate identification performance. The dataset includes example annotated images demonstrating contour extraction, trial datasets used to compare computer-aided and manual annotation approaches, and R scripts used to calculate cumulative density functions (CDF), false rejection rates (FRR), and associated statistical tests. The materials are provided to allow replication of the identification workflow and to facilitate application of the contour-based identification approach to other species lacking distinctive coat patterns. Raw camera trap images are not included due to data ownership agreements with the study reserve, but representative processed datasets necessary to reproduce the analyses are provided.
