Dataset for Multimodal Validation of Temporal Interference in a 3D-Printed Pediatric Head Phantom
Description
This dataset supports the multimodal validation of transcranial temporal interference stimulation (tTIS) for generating amplitude-modulated envelopes within subcortical regions of a pediatric head phantom. A 3-year-old, anatomically representative, in-house-constructed head phantom was equipped with dipolar sources positioned at six deep brain target locations. tTIS was delivered using pairs of electrical currents applied through computationally optimized scalp electrode configurations. Raw measurements were collected across a broad frequency range (1–200,000 Hz) to characterize the frequency-dependent electrical properties of the phantom and responses at the dipolar source locations. The dataset also includes oscilloscope recordings obtained under different stimulation conditions (5-9 kHz) and no-frequency-offset controls (Δf = 0 Hz) at the six target locations (L1-L3; R1-R3). These control measurements enable evaluation of the absence of a temporal interference envelope when no frequency difference is introduced between the carrier signals. The dataset complements the related research article, “Multimodal Validation of Temporal Interference in a 3D-Printed Pediatric Head Phantom,” and provides raw experimental data for independently evaluating tTIS envelope generation, frequency-dependent responses, and control conditions in an anatomically representative pediatric head phantom with tissue-mimicking electromagnetic properties.
