This dataset contains the field monitoring data, water quality indicators, and related environmental variables used to analyze turbidity patterns and their driving forces in the Shanghai river network, located in the Yangtze River Delta, China. It includes measured parameters such as turbidity, total phosphorus, CODMn, NH₃-N, DOM/FDOM, and particle size distributions, as well as land use and rainfall data. The dataset supports the findings presented in the manuscript “Drivers of river turbidity in the Yangtze River Delta: limited role of the estuary.” All research data supporting this study are provided in the Supplementary Material.
